At First Baptist Church, we want to help every Christian find and fulfill their purpose in the kingdom of God. God uniquely equipped and gifted every believer for service for Him. Some people work well in front of groups. Some prefer to work behind the scenes. Some people love to teach, while others like to extend hospitality. God created faith-filled visionaries, as well as administrators, who make dreams become reality. No matter who you are or what your gifts and talents may be, God has a plan for your life.
Join a Ministry
If you already know where God is leading you to serve, we extend our thanks and appreciation. Please indicate on the Connection Place information card where you desire to serve. We will share your information with the ministry leader who can partner with you in service. We have a great need for servants in the existing ministries of First Baptist. You can choose to serve in Sunday School, recreation, media, music, mission teams, or any other church ministry available.
Start a New Ministry
It is possible that God is leading you into a ministry that doesn’t exist through our church. If so, we can provide resources (human and physical) to ensure that your vision of service has every opportunity to be effective. Because you will need structure and direction, the Connection Place can connect you to church leaders who can help you get started and provide a framework toward success.
Find Your Place
Maybe you have been thinking about serving, but you have no idea where to begin. You may have never identified your gifts or talents. You may not have much experience or knowledge of church work. You’re like a blank slate, willing to do “whatever” the Lord directs. PLACE is a ministry of First Baptist that helps people like you discover how God has uniquely designed them to serve Him. Offered at regular intervals throughout the year, PLACE combines five Bible studies with five personal assessments to delve into the “real you.” By the completion of the program, you will understand your areas of giftedness and how it translates into service for God’s kingdom. At First Baptist, we want to help you become connected for service. We want you to experience the joy of walking in obedience with Christ and fulfilling His purpose for your life. Ephesians 2:10 states, “We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” God has a plan for your life that He designed before you were even born. We welcome the opportunity to partner with you in ministry and service for Him.
