On Sunday, June 28, Kevin Kunce, Chairman of the Pastor Selection Committee, shared with our church family that the Committee had come to a unanimous agreement regarding the best candidate to serve as our next Senior Pastor. The candidate will preach “in view of a call” on Sunday morning, July 19.

I'm learning a lot about foundations these days. My house was built in the early '70's on the side of a hill way outside the watchful eye of city housing inspectors. Apparently my house has a problem with the foundation, or the drainage, or the bricks, or maybe just the deck, or maybe some combination of all four, or maybe it's something else all together.

I recently asked Lewis Lea, worship leader in the Living Room, to share some of his thoughts on the heart of worship. Once again, I was reminded that the heart of worship is about hearts surrendered to Jesus. Styles and preferences have more to do with the birthdates and mailing addresses of the worshippers than timeless Truth.

I don’t think I could write a better FBC Connect than the one Joy Plank wrote below. Actually, it’s not an “FBC Connect” article, it’s the family of FBC connecting the way we should all the time. Thanks Joy, Craig, and Bailey Plank for “living the connection.” I know you will enjoy Joy’s story as much as I did, imagine what would happen if we all took the opportunities God gives us to connect with our community like this. – Bob Landham

Aarron Schwartz, teaching pastor of the Living Room, has sensed God’s call to church planting. We’ve been working toward that goal since late last year and very intensely so for the past couple of months.

Last Thursday morning Aarron shared with me he felt the Lord leading him to resign as the Teaching Pastor in the Living Room in order to follow God’s call on his life.
