The Vine Single Adult Ministry

Single but never alone. That’s the promise Jesus makes to all who accept Him as Lord and Savior. Jesus wants you to be forever connected to Him, just as a grape branch is connected to the vine. In John 15:5, Jesus says, “I am the vine, you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without Me” (HCSB).

Jesus calls our Heavenly Father the Vinedresser, Who lovingly cares for every branch that’s part of the Vine. When He sees a branch that has grown weak and has dropped to the ground, or one that has been covered in dirt, He lifts the branch up and cleans it off. He wants us to bear fruit for Him. When we begin to bear fruit, He lovingly, tenderly prunes away those things that inhibit growth so that we will bear much fruit.

As a single adult, Jesus calls you to stay connected to Him – the true Vine. That’s why we call the Single Adult Ministry at First Baptist “The Vine.” Here you stay connected to Jesus and with other single adults like you by studying the Bible in depth and by meeting frequently for encouragement, prayer, laughter and service. As you stay connected to the Vine, you produce much fruit and bring glory to God. Jesus said, “My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be My disciples” (John 15:8).
